Boat and shore fishing for mixed species.
With the kids off to camp and my wife away to visit her parents, I’m alone for two weeks, hope to put in some extra time on the water. Monday had us out on the boat again, the waves in Lake St Francis were getting bigger by the minute, so we were forced off after about an hour. So much for my plans of casting for muskies. The Raisin River is our usual shelter for windy days, it seems like this season the wind just won’t stop. As the river is choked with weeds, the fishing is tough these days, we managed 1 small pike, a couple bass and a big perch that hit a crankbait. With a storm moving in and the fishing quite slow, we decided to leave early and attempt some channel cat fishing on the Outaouais River. We got out to our spot early, nothing hit as expected until it was almost dark. Then, between 9:00 PM and 9:15 PM we had 3 hits, unfortunately we missed them all. It was fund night fishing again, it’s something I haven’t done in over 10 years, I usually have to be home with the kids by then. Hope to head back for some more over the next 2 weeks.
