The entire crew made it out to Giles Lake for the bass opener in that region (Zone 10). The big bass showed up to, they proved to be more than willing to hit our worms every day, some of us also caught some casting artificial lures, they hit out trolling lines too. My 7 year old son Avi landed his personal best on the first open day (June 23rd), an 18 inch / 3.75 lb largemouth. Following day, my dad got his personal best largemouth at 20 inches / 4 lbs. I managed a few over 3.5 lbs, as well as a couple small pike in the 3 lb range. My other sons Ari and Levi both caught 2 lb bass trolling crankbaits and worm harnesses. All in all, I fished under 3 hours each day, as minding 3 kids for a week is a job on it’s own. I didn’t mind at all, as I fish often enough to be satisfied fishing only the “peak hours”. Some of the other guests that came strictly to fish had some really good days catching dozens of bass, many over 3 lbs.
The pourvoirie / outfitter is part of a summer long contest for different species, I plan to enter my Dad and son in the bass category, I think we might have a decent shot at winning as most of the other places aren’t bass fishing camps.
I highly recommend Mijocama outfitter as a prime destination for trophy bass fishing and family fishing trips. For more information on Mijocama outfitter, or to contact them, click http://freshwaterphil.com/mijocama-outfitter.cfm
